The Love of Man

When a man loves a woman, it shows.

Maybe not because he wants it to, but because it can’t be helped.

So, to the guys that say “I don’t do ‘emotions’”, we say, “we see it *wink**wink*”.

It’s in your eyes as they follow her when she walks towards you, or even away from you.

It’s in your eyes when you look into her eyes when she’s talking to you like you can see beyond them into her soul.

It’s in your nose when you smell her perfume in your room because she took a nap on your bed and you smile because you know that this woman makes you happy. Continue reading →

One Sunny Day

So, the other day, I had a stupid moment. The kind that is funny when it isn’t about you :)…

I had swapped cars with my best friend and on this very very hot, absolutely ridiculously sunny day, I was in a mad rush.

I got into the car, put the key into the ignition and started it, but the gear refused to engage into drive, I tried and tried and tried but it just didn’t budge. I started to sweat, I was running extremely late and I just couldn’t have this happen to me right then.

I called bestie. “I can’t engage the gear…something must be wrong, I’m running super late, so I’m going to leave the car and uber to my meeting”

Cheers to a Brighter Future

There are many topics being discussed as 2015 comes to an end and 2016 rears its head, but the common factor is definitely resolutions i.e., what did I do in 2015 that I no longer want to do in 2016? What do I want to achieve in 2016? Etc., whether as an individual or as an organization.

As we all make our resolutions, I just wanted to pop in here and leave a few tips for the New Year ahead. Continue reading →

#areyoutheone?

When I was growing up, and actually, even till now, the general impression is that women take forever to get ready and I always picture a man pacing  in the living room while his wife is in front of the dressing table mirror shuffling between calling out “I’m almost ready, love” and applying her mascara and lipstick.

Even in ant world 🙂

These days however, I hear and have seen that this is no longer as we knew it to be.

Raise your hands, ladies, if your man is guilty of making you late for events because he’s “getting ready”.

Now, dear men, why does it take you forever to get ready?

Are you the one that has to carefully apply make-up like a master painter at work?

So many tools!

So many colors!!

Are you the one who has to go through a pile of clothes to find the outfit just right for this particular event, not the same as the one you wore for the last event (even though it’s a different crowd)?

Are you the one who has to hold her breath and fit into a waist trainer while still managing to look stunning?

Are you the one who has to get the kids ready for the event? and by that I mean, give them a bath, dress them, feed them AND manage all of that while chasing at least one of them around (hi 5 if you can identify with this)!

3ecdc5761cc9c650297e4f5701dacb23[1]Are you the one who has to make sure the house looks great before you go out in case an unexpected visitor arrives just as you get back from the event?

wonder woman - You wonder how i get it all done? I wonder too...i'm wonderwoman!

Or are you going to use the excuse that you have decided to only get ready after your wife because you know she’s going to take her time and in doing this, you end up being the late one…so technically, it’s her fault?

Do tell…

YOurs randomly,

For the love of food…

So, you have a hot date at a fancy restaurant or a formal dinner with some high level people and you don’t know how to dress eat… 🙁

I could never let you turn down an opportunity for fine dining because according to Leroy Neiman, “eating is one of the great beauties in life”…and according to me, eating out more so…!

So here are a few tips, not in any particular order…

Going Pink

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, symbol of which is the pink ribbon. I couldn’t let the month go by without lending a voice to the cause that I know is a major issue for women and men around the world.

Even though breast cancer is the most popular form of cancer, there are other forms and there are things that can be done to minimize the associated risks;

BREAST CANCER

First off,  you should know how your breasts normally look and feel and report any changes to your doctor right away.

  • All women should be familiar with the known benefits, limitations, and potential harms linked to breast cancer screening;
  • Women ages 40 to 44 should have the choice to start annual breast cancer screening with mammograms if they wish to do so.
  • Women age 45 to 54 should get mammograms every year.
  • Women 55 and older should switch to mammograms every 2 years, or can continue yearly screening.
  • Screening should continue as long as a woman is in good health and is expected to live 10 more years or longer.

Some women – because of their family history, a genetic tendency, or certain other factors – should be screened with MRIs along with mammograms. Talk with your doctor about your risk for breast cancer and the best screening plan for you.

In a little while

No matter how dark the night gets, the morning is always waiting right there on the other side.

To a child, the well may look endless, but the rope can be long enough for the bucket to hit the bottom.

A child being pushed in a swing may think she’s being thrown to the clouds, but the adult pushing knows that it’s not more than a few feet high.

No matter how big a bottle of water is, one day, there will only be the last drop left.

A journey, regardless of how long it is, will end eventually.

Nothing ever lasts forever, even though it right now feels like it will.

There are times when you will be between the devil and the deep blue sea, sometimes between a rock and a hard place.

During those times, there are 4 things you can do – one after the other, or all at once if you like;

  1. Close your eyes
  2. Take a deep breath
  3. Let go
  4. Let God.

    In the 'morning', you will come out on the other side!
    In the ‘morning’, you will come out on the other side!

YOUrs randOMLY

To Rome, with love

While you slept, I left….

20150610_102547 (2)

I had  a fantastic time;

we hung out…you showed me what it must mean to be loved.

you showed me your depths and ruins,

The ugly and the beautiful…what makes you, you.

The magnificence of what you represent,

The richness of your heritage…

I had to leave while you slept

Because had you been awake, leaving would have been much harder.

If you’ve never been to Rome… you must!  make it Bucket List item #1 (assuming everyone has a bucket list).

If you don’t have a bucket list…you must! make it Bucket List item #o.5. 😉

“The heart is only capable of hate because it used to love….” says Me. 🙂love-811994_1280

I really do think that love and hate are two ends of the same spectrum – you can hate someone just as much as you used to love them. Other wise, how do you explain a woman stabbing her husband to death by sticking a knife in his neck during an argument? Or a man cutting his wife to pieces because she was rude? *what are you doing cutting a human like venison?*

Remember “the journey of a thousand miles (read the journey from love to hate) begins with a step”….whatever you do, make sure you’re not taking that first step towards the hate side!
